Oga Hasu

Oga Hasu are the aquatic perennial plants belonging to the genus Nelumbo of the family Nymphaeaceae.


They were estimated to be around 2,000 years old by radioactive dating tests.It was in 1993 and 1994 that Himeji city was given some "Oga Hasu" roots,which have been fostered successfully in Koko-en since.
